Job Description:
- Provides customer service and assistance.
- Cuts and prepares meat for the counter, according to a production schedule set out by the department manager, maintaining a full display, attractive to customers.
- Unloads and organizes meat receiving in cooler, must use first in first out rotation system to maintain product freshness & quality.
- Wrap and weigh products through scale for fresh meat counter and ham counter. Must follow company and government guidelines for production dates, proper nomenclature, etc.
- Follows and performs safety, sanitation, and housekeeping in all production areas, counters, coolers/freezers, and dept. equipment as per daily company standards and weekend deep cleaning cycles.
- Must be able to work independently
- Other duties as assigned by the manager.

- Must be able to work independently
- Other duties as assigned by the manager.
Required Skills:
- In depth meat cutting experience required with a good knowledge of all meat products; cryovac beef & veal, gas flushed pork and poultry, etc.
- To cut meat in compliance with the store's cutting standards.
- To store meat on trays in an orderly fashion in preparation for wrapping.
- To wrap and price meat trays as required.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Capable of standing for prolonged periods of 4-8 hours.
- Capable of standing, twisting, turning, bending, reaching, walking, lifting up to 27kg and carrying for some distance.
- Capable of working in refrigerated conditions.
- Capable of pulling/pushing a loaded hand jack up to 250kg.
- Capable of withstanding repetitive work, involving arms, wrists and hand motions in meat cutting on the band saw and with knife by hand.
- MUST be available to work evenings and weekends including SUNDAY as required.
- Hours to be scheduled according to the business needs.
- To cut meat in compliance with the store's cutting standards.
