Fitter-Welder, Structural Metal and Platework

R.F. Contracting Inc. (\"RF\") is a multi-trade mechanical contractor operating throughout Northern Ontario for over 40 years. Our commitment to safety, quality and project execution have contributed to our growth and diverse project portfolio with a best-in-class client base. Projects range in size from $100,000 to $3,000,000 and include a combination of disciplines that include pipefitting, ironworking, and civil.
Reporting to the Fabrication Shop Manager, RF is seeking a ticketed Fitter-Welder that will be responsible for producing a high quality products from concept to delivery.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Read engineering drawings and blueprints, determine materials required, and plan sequence of tasks
- Plan, prepare schedules, milestones, and monitor progress against established schedules
- Set up and operate heavy-duty metal working machines
- Operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment - FCAW, SMAW, GMAW, TIG, MIG
- Rig, hoist and move materials around yard and within shop setting
- Must be able to work in imperial and metric
- Apply technical experience to interpret documentation, specifications, and drawings
- Attend and participate in site-visits, as well as pre-bid and post-bid meetings
- Work with quality control programs
- Perform other duties, as required
- Must prioritize health and safety

- Possess a technical diploma from a recognized institute, Red Seal is an asset
- Previous experience working with a fabrication contractor/shop an asset
- Proficient in Microsoft Office including Excel, Word and Project
- Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Upholds the value of a safe, efficient, and productive work environment
- Solid team player with a positive attitude
- Thrives on managing multiple priorities and project deadlines
- Valid drivers licence. DZ an asset
