Ontario Trap Rock, a division of R.W. Tomlinson Limited is currently reviewing potential candidates to fill an immediate requirement for a Heavy Equipment Technician based at our Bruce Mines Quarry.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Servicing and repairing of heavy equipment
- Servicing and repairing quarry support vehicles and small engines
- Performing diagnostic testing to identify the malfunction as well as post-repair testing to ensure it was successful
- Able to complete repairs to manufacturers' specifications and legislated requirements
- Communicate successfully with the operators of the heavy equipment, potentially providing preventative advice or further instruction
- Preparation of accurate written repair order sheets and reports
- Interpretation of service manuals, schematics, lube charts, repair orders, etc.

WORKING CONDITIONS
- Work 55 hours per week, day shift, Monday through Friday
- Must be available to be on-call for onsite repairs and on Saturdays when required
- Work successfully and efficiently with minimal supervision
- Work well with others in a team environment

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Completion of secondary school is usually required
- At least 5 years' experience, ideally with mechanic's license
- Experience with gasoline and diesel equipment, specifically Caterpillar
- Safety training and experience is an asset
- Small Engine experience
