than 1,800 kilometers of distribution lines in an area that covers approximately 14,200 square kilometers. Algoma Power Inc. is a subsidiary of
FortisOntario Inc. (\"FortisOntario\") which is headquartered in Fort Erie and has operations in electricity transmission and distribution primarily
located in Fort Erie, Port Colborne, Cornwall, Gananoque and the district of Algoma. FortisOntario is the only investor-owned electric distribution
utility in Ontario and is a wholly owned subsidiary of Fortis Inc. (\"Fortis\"). Fortis is the largest investor-owned distribution utility in Canada. Algoma
Power Inc. currently has an opportunity working out of our Sault Ste. Marie work centre location for a:
GIS & RECORDS TECHNICIAN

Algoma Power Inc. (API) is looking for an enthusiastic, service oriented, organized individual with a keen attention to detail and the ability to
work in a fast-paced environment as part of a dynamic team. The GIS and Records Technician is responsible to update and maintain technical
and legal records and provides quality system mapping in a timely manner in order to increase worker safety and efficiency.

Main duties/responsibilities include:
- Support the Operations, Customer Service and Engineering departments by updating transformer, pole, switch and connectivity records and in a timely manner used for planning, outage management, reporting, system analysis purposes
- Organize and maintain technical files (both physical and electronic files)
- Create and maintain electronic and paper maps of API's distribution system
- Management of line section, pole numbering, switch numbering and transformer numbering conventions
- Inventory and management of electronic and physical repositories of legal documents and permits such as easements, land leases, MTO highway encroachments, joint use agreements, rail crossing agreements, land use permits etc.
- Document management and retention and records retrieval
- Ensure the efficient operation of the department by anticipating needs, implementing suggestions, initiating improvements to workflow, and handling day-to-day work as required
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships with all internal departments, employees, customers, contractors, various legislative bodies, municipal agencies and governments and other organizations
- Other duties as assigned

Required Skills:
The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:
- GIS Applications Specialist or equivalent GIS diploma or certification
- Experience working with ESRI/GIS platform to edit and create geospatial data
- Knowledge of utility-specific GIS software such as Milsoft, Autocad
- A good understanding of the electrical system and the characteristics and functionality of electrical equipment
- Post-Secondary education in Business Administration or equivalent
- Experience with Data Management and Analysis
- Experience in organization of records and records retention
- Proficient in computer applications, such as Microsoft Office Suite (SAP knowledge is considered an asset)
- Knowledgeable in the use of databases
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to effectively achieve desired results within specified deadlines
- Attention to detail and ability to complete work with high degree of accuracy
- Proven team player, strong problem-solving and interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently
- Work experience with an electrical utility would be an asset
- Ontario \"G\" driver's license and clean driver's abstract
