TITLE: Human Resources Assistant

DESCRIPTION:
- Support Social Enterprise Manager in analyzing internal Human Resource processes to identify gaps and areas for improvement.
- Develop job advertisements, assist in candidate screening, and conduct reference checks for internal hiring processes.
- Lead the administration of internal HR software (HR Downloads).
- Assist with onboarding/offboarding process and required employment statistics reporting.
- Assist with meetings regarding HR and professional development opportunities as required by the Board of Directors, with the direction of the Social Enterprise Manager.
- Assist with facilitating training sessions for new staff including WHIMIS and AODA training.
? Conduct funding research to identify potential growth opportunities for the organization, particularly to HR management, wages and organizational support.

The Human Resources Assistant will work closely with the Social Enterprise Manager and help support the daily operations of the organization. Hours of work will fall within standard office hours of 9am-5pm, Monday to Friday, with some occasional shift coverage for Saturday (12pm-4pm). Start/end times can be flexible if approved by the Social Enterprise Manager. The Human Resources Assistant will also be expected to perform work duties on site at Grocer 4 Good grocery store (147 Gore Street), Cafe 4 Good (326 Queen St East) and at our rented office space at Millworks (123 March St #202).

START DATE: 1 February 2025
END DATE: 31 January 2026
PAY: $20/hr

Required Skills:
Candidate must be a new entrant into the workforce, transitioning to a new career, unemployed or underemployed and entering a new field.
Candidate must have not previously participated in an NOHFC funded internship in the 2020 Mandate.
Candidate must be 18 years of age or older.
Candidate must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
Once hired, the candidate must reside in the Northern Ontario community in which they are employed.
