Job Description:
General Manager:
Maple Ridge Aggregates is looking for a hard-working, self-motivated employee with a proven record of safety and reliability to fill the position of General Manager in the Thessalon, Ontario Area. This Full-time position reports directly to the Vice-President and comes with competitive wages, a pension, and a benefits package.

JOB DUTIES:
- Oversee all aspects of the day-to-day operations of the organization.
- Build and maintain relationships with key clients, contractors, and industry stakeholders.
- Oversee business development activities to identify new business opportunities, clients, and markets.
- Lead, mentor, and manage staff, including supervisors, drivers, equipment operators, and construction teams including an active role in the recruitment, training, evaluation, and discipline of workers.
- Schedule and manage all logistics for efficient and effective delivery of materials and services.
- Manage all aspects of specific projects including customer relationships and customer service.
- Balance strategic planning with the ability to engage in work directly with the team to improve customer service, operational efficiency, and employee engagement.
- Manage the fleet of equipment including working with the shop on a scheduled maintenance program and renewal strategy.
- Co-ordinate and work with other divisions to efficiently schedule and perform work across Thessalon and the surrounding area.
- Establish financial and administrative controls, working with yearly budgets, forecasting, and pricing.
- Foster a culture of safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
- Monitor operational performance against goals to ensure that progress is continual, and that corrective actions are being implemented.
- Meet regularly with internal leaders and stakeholders to foster team cohesion and facilitate resolution of issues/problems between business units.
- Set and demonstrate a strong business ethic that supports our values in dealing with employees, suppliers, and customers.
- Display professionalism toward our company and customers.
- Work in accordance with all internal, client and regulated health and safety policies, procedures, and/or regulations, including both wearing and enforcing the use of appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Work out of town, evenings and weekends as required.
- Perform related duties as assigned by Vice-President.

Required Skills:
Education:
- University Degree or Diploma in relevant field or equivalent experience is considered an asset.
- Minimum 5 years' experience in the construction, mining, or transportation industry.
- Minimum 3 years' experience managing or supervising staff.
- Valid G class driver's license.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Proficient in leading operations in a customer-focused environment.
- Ability to manage risks and adapt to unexpected changes.
- Strong leadership skills, with prior experience managing teams of 20+ employees.
- Solid Business Acumen, with an entrepreneurial mindset.
- Direct experience in trucking operations, pits and quarries, equipment installations, and route dispatching is highly valued.
- Proven ability to work well in a team environment.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Strong sales and negotiating skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a cheerful outlook and providing exemplary customer service.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal staff and external stakeholders.
- An ability to manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously, and deal effectively with people using a facilitative approach.
- Ability to repetitively lift, carry, and move objects up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to work in inclement weather conditions.
- Intermediate computer proficiency (MS Office - Word, Excel, and Outlook).
- Ability to adapt to last-minute changes as dictated by the needs of our customers.
