If you are seeking a dynamic and challenging role in supporting the early development of toddler and preschool children within an inclusive child care environment, THRIVE has a position for you.
Using a family-centred, strengths-based approach, our experienced and dedicated professional staff build on the child's unique strengths, gifts and talents so that they and their families can truly THRIVE!
We are looking for Registered Preschool Educator (full-time contract until December 31, 2025) to work as part of a team, assist in the day-to-day operations, and share responsibility for the children enrolled at our onsite preschool program. Within this role you will assist in curriculum development, implement, and support individual support plans, and maintain a safe, routine based and organized environment.
This is a 37.5-hour weekly (7.5-hour per day excluding an hour unpaid lunch break), on-site position, working M-F. Preschool hours are between 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Shifts for this position may vary day to day depending on operational needs (example, a 7:30am start time one day and the next day start at 9:30 am.) As much advance notice will be provided as possible.
Shift and room assignments are assigned according to Centre needs and subject to change as necessary. Must be willing to work with all age groups and be flexible to accommodate operational needs.
We believe in the power of teamwork and partnership, and achieving excellence through innovation, curiosity and optimism. In addition to our fun and collaborative working environment, we also offer: a competitive salary, access to Employee Family Assistance Program, vacation pay, paid time off during winter break office closure, and participation in a defined benefit pension plan (Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan HOOPP).
THRIVE is also an incorporated, non-profit Children's Treatment Centre made up of occupational therapists, physiotherapists, speech-language pathologists, social workers, therapy assistants, early childhood educators, ABA Therapist and support staff. We provide inter-disciplinary pediatric rehabilitation, respite care, an on-site childcare program and resource support to community childcare centres in Sault Ste. Marie and throughout the District of Algoma. Visit www.kidsthrive.ca for more information.
