Employment Opportunity: CARETAKER - PART TIME

Reports to: Head Cook
Supervises: None
Term Start: No later than the fourth week of June
Term End: No earlier than last week of August
Wages: $18-$20 per hour dependent on experience
Plus accommodations all summer and meals 5 days per week
Overview: The Caretaker plays a vital role in maintaining the camp's facilities, grounds, and overall safety. This part-time position requires an individual who can perform routine maintenance, manage repairs, and ensure cleanliness across the camp. Reporting to the Head Cook, the Caretaker ensures a safe and welcoming environment for campers and staff alike by addressing maintenance issues promptly and keeping all areas hazard-free.
Duties:
Follows all rules and regulations as outlined in the Staff Manual
Ensures all garbage is disposed of in the proper area
Cleans and restocks supplies in all showers and washrooms
Monitors the water system and equipment; promptly notifies the Camp Director of any issues
Inspects and reports on faulty electrical circuits, switches, or outlets to the Camp Director
Replaces broken or burnt-out light bulbs and checks lights in the new building monthly
Maintains and repairs steps, doors, windows, and screens as needed
Keeps the camp grounds free of hazards and waste
Maintains the fire pit area and beachfront to ensure safety and cleanliness
Accompanies the provincial health inspector during inspections, if present
Maintains care and control of the 4-wheel all-terrain vehicle
Attends all camp training sessions as requested by the Camp Director

Required Skills:
Experience in maintenance and repairs
Ability to work independently and efficiently
Standard First Aid and Basic Rescuer CPR certification
Current Vulnerable Persons Record Check - to be submitted one (1) week prior to commencement of employment
