Job Description:
The Corporation of the Municipality of Huron Shores requires one Public Works Superintendent
(full-time position with benefit package)
Summary of Position:
Reporting to the CAO/Clerk, the Public Works Superintendent is responsible for the planning, organizing, directing, and evaluating the activities of the Public Works Department as directed by Council and in accordance with applicable municipal by-laws and provincial legislation. The position requires optimum management of human and financial resources in an effective and efficient manner for the following Municipal services: transportation, environment, parks and plant.

This position is a working Superintendent position and will have a designated snowplow route in the winter. The position is based out of the Municipal Office and Garage in Iron Bridge.

Wage Range: $37.31 to $46.62. Salary position with wage commensurate with qualifications. Evenings, weekend, and on-call work are included in the salary and based on 2,288 hours per year.

Required Skills:
- College diploma in a related discipline or acceptable combination of education and related experience;
- Certified Road Supervisor, preferred;
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in equipment operations in a rural-based roads department or similar setting, along with progressively responsible experience in supervisory roles managing municipal public works operations;
- Proficiency in computer applications relevant to public works management, including asset management software, GIS, and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook);
- Comprehensive knowledge in provincial legislation, standard, and regulations governing municipal public works operations; including health and safety protocols and environmental compliance requirements;
- Chainsaw certification;
- Valid DZ Driver's Licence;
- Excellent verbal, written and keyboarding skills;
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational and leadership skills.

- Minimum of 5 years' experience in equipment operations in a rural-based roads department or similar setting, along with progressively responsible experience in supervisory roles managing municipal public works operations;
