Job Description:
The North Shore Health Network provides rural healthcare for communities along the north shore of Lake Huron - including services in Blind River, Thessalon and Richards Landing. The North Shore Health Network sites have been serving their communities faithfully for many years providing emergency, acute, complex continuing care, long term care and community support services.

The Role:
North Shore Health Network (NSHN) is seeking a highly motivated, self-directed individual to join our multi-disciplinary team based from our Blind River Site. As a member of the clinical team, using a person-centered approach, the Registered Dietitian is responsible for performing complex nutrition assessments, implementing and monitoring of nutrition care plans, and prescribing medical nutrition therapy through education, goal setting and follow-up.

Responsibilities:
- Assess nutritional needs, develop nutrition plans and special therapeutic diets for individuals and groups that aim at preventing, treating and managing health conditions. Clients include acute care, long term care and out-patients
- Provide nutrition resources (or act as a nutrition resource) for Health Centre employees, the community and special populations, such as people with heart disease, diabetes and obesity
- Liaise with the food service manager to ensure food prepared is safe, nutritious and cost effective
- Participate in administrative activities that ensure safe, ethical and high-quality nutrition services

Wages:
$39.72-$46.22

Required Skills:
Qualifications:
- Current registration in good standing with the Ontario College of Dietitians of Ontario
- Baccalaureate degree in Applied Human Nutrition or Baccalaureate of Science or equivalent and successful complete of accredited dietetic internship;
- 2 to 3 years in a healthcare field
- Membership with the Dietitians of Canada is an asset
- Demonstrated ability to work as a committed team player;
- Ability to exercise good judgment, show initiative, and is proactive;
- High standards of ethics and confidentiality to handle sensitive information;
- Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and Windows;
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal;
- Fluently bilingual (English & French) considered a strong asset.
