Job title: Payroll Clerk - Hybrid location

Location: Sault Ste Marie, ON
Working Hours per week: 35-40 hours

Wage: $24.50/hr

The Payroll Clerk at Hydro Tech is responsible for accurately and efficiently managing the company's payroll processes to ensure that all employees are compensated correctly and on time. This role involves processing weekly and bi-weekly payroll, maintaining payroll records, handling employee payroll inquiries, and ensuring compliance with federal and provincial regulations. The Payroll Clerk plays a crucial role in coordinating payroll-related data, such as timekeeping, benefits deductions, and tax withholdings, while supporting Hydro Tech's commitment to precision and confidentiality in all payroll activities. This position also involves collaborating with HR and finance departments to ensure seamless integration of payroll data, contributing to overall employee satisfaction and operational efficiency.

The Payroll Clerk is responsible to ensure:
-Accurate completion and management of weekly, bi-weekly and monthly payroll and expense report/visa receipt reconciliations.
-Accurate and timely completion of multi-union timesheets and expense payments for applicable personnel
-Prepare and file statutory reports and remittances such as T4, ROE, Source deductions, WSIB/WCB, and EHT in compliance with CRA and provincial tax authorities
-Maintain weekly log of labour hours and expenses for specific overhaul progress/job
-Process attendance and vacation records and other documents
-Check payroll information for accuracy and ensure all relevant paperwork is in order
-Coordinate with HR about changes in payroll (e.g. terminations, new hires)
-Prepare, reconcile and remit payments related to benefits, RRSPs and union dues
-Update data with salary or wage adjustments
-Perform a wide range of filing and/or reporting work as required
-Produce reports to upper management upon request
-Answer employee questions or complaints about salaries and payments
-Stay updated on payroll legislation and regulations, ensuring ongoing compliance
-Other duties as required

Working Conditions: Overtime may be required

Required Skills:
-College Diploma in Business Accounting or equivalent
-Experience with Sage Payroll system an asset
-At least 3 years of union payroll record keeping experience
-Valid Driver's License
-Security Clearance
Requirements:
