Job Description:
Job Description: Under the guidance and mentorship of the Museum Curator, students will take on a dual role as Tourist Information Clerk and Museum Curator Assistant at the Museum and Tourist Information Centre. This position provides a combination of customer service, cultural preservation, and community engagement responsibilities, ensuring a well-rounded learning and professional experience.
Key Responsibilities and Tasks:
Tourist Information Services:
- Greet and assist travelers, providing information about local attractions, cultural landmarks, and recreational opportunities.
- Respond to visitor inquiries in person, by phone, and online, showcasing strong communication skills.
- Promote local events, activities, and attractions to enhance the visitor experience.
Museum Operations:
- Assist in the daily operation of the Museum, ensuring exhibits are maintained and presented effectively.
- Support the cataloging, organization, and preservation of cultural artifacts, learning essential skills in historical conservation and inventory management.
- Participate in the development and setup of new exhibits or displays.
Community Program Development:
- Collaborate with the Museum Curator to organize and deliver community programs and events, such as summer day camps and workshops.
- Contribute creative ideas to develop new tourism programs and initiatives aimed at youth, seniors, and diverse audiences.
Marketing and Digital Skills:
- Assist in creating promotional content for social media, websites, and other digital platforms to boost community engagement and visitor traffic.
- Utilize and enhance digital tools to help advertise museum exhibits and tourism activities.
Professional Development and Inclusion:
- Gain valuable customer service and organizational skills while interacting with visitors from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
- Engage with local communities, including First Nation and Métis populations, fostering cultural inclusivity and understanding.

Required Skills:
Applicants must be between 15 to 30 years old and legally eligible to work in Canada. Please note that international students are not eligible.
