Job Description: Students hired as a Fire Prevention Officer Assistant will work under the guidance and mentorship of the Fire Prevention Officer, gaining valuable insight into municipal fire safety operations, public education initiatives, and emergency preparedness planning. This role offers a combination of hands-on and administrative responsibilities, fostering skill development in fire prevention, public safety, and communication.

Key Responsibilities and Tasks:
Fire Safety Education:
- Assist in the creation and distribution of educational materials focused on fire safety, emergency preparedness, and fire prevention strategies for residents and businesses.
- Conduct community outreach to promote fire prevention practices, including smoke alarm awareness and emergency exit planning.

Administrative Support:
- Aid in maintaining accurate records of fire prevention inspections, permits, and safety reports.
- Assist in organizing fire safety documentation and preparing reports for the Fire Prevention Officer.
- Utilize digital tools to update fire safety databases and track community engagement activities.

Operational Support:
- Accompany the Fire Prevention Officer on routine inspections of residential, commercial, and public properties to ensure compliance with fire safety regulations.
- Assist in conducting basic fire safety checks, including testing smoke detectors and identifying fire hazards.
- Support municipal staff during community safety events and fire drills.

Applicants must be between 15 to 30 years old and legally eligible to work in Canada. Please note that international students are not eligible.
