Required Skills:
In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)
EDUCATION
A secondary school diploma (or PSC-approved equivalent) OR an acceptable combination of education, training and experience related to the position
**Preference may be given to candidates who have successfully completed post-secondary training in a finance or administrative-related field (bookkeeping, accounting, business administration, commerce, etc.)
Degree equivalency
EXPERIENCE
- Experience in dealing with the public, both by telephone and in person
- Recent experience providing a variety of general administrative services including creating and managing files, arranging meetings and recording meeting minutes, maintaining databases, data entry, handling mail and courier services
- Recent experience in providing financial support services such as verifying and correcting financial claims, controlling and monitoring petty cash, verifying, controlling and submitting deposits and related paperwork
- Recent experience working with Microsoft Office suite of software (including Excel and Microsoft Word)
**Recent - minimum of 6 months within the last 36 months
The following will be applied / assessed at a later date (essential for the job)
Bilingual - Imperative (--B/--B)

- Knowledge of information and records management procedures and practices

- Ability to manage multiple competing priorities on a daily basis, maintain schedules and meet deadlines
- Ability to interpret directives and guidelines related to travel, hospitality, information management and contracts
- Ability to demonstrate accuracy and attention to detail

- Experience in purchasing and/or procurement
- Experience using the SAP and STAR system
OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- Willingness to wear a Parks Canada uniform
- Willingness to work irregular hours, overtime, weekends and/or statutory holidays when required
- Note: Remote work is not available; the successful candidate will be required to work on-site at our Sault Ste. Marie office
