Job Description:
The Algoma District School Board is accepting applications from candidates wishing to be considered for the position of HUMAN RESOURCES CONFIDENTIAL SECRETARY.
Reporting to the Manager and Superintendent of Human Resources, the Human Resources Confidential Secretary is responsible for completing tasks and providing assistance and operational support to the Human Resources Department. The Human Resources Confidential Secretary will work in a team environment, fostering positive relationships with staff and stakeholders, requiring a high level of confidentiality, discretion, and professionalism.
Duties and Responsibilities Include but are not limited to:
- Maintains an extremely high regard for confidentiality, discretion and professionalism, in Human Resources Applications/Systems
- Supports recruitment and staffing by contacting candidates, scheduling interviews, completing reference checks and assisting with on-boarding and orientation
- Establishes and maintains efficient physical and electronic filing systems for records, documents, and Human Resource files
- Works collaboratively with not only the Human Resources Department, but with all levels of the organization as
required
- Coordinates and prioritizes work tasks
- Enters and validates confidential information in various Human Resources systems
- Completes general office duties and other tasks as assigned

Required Skills:
Education
- Post-secondary diploma in Office Administration (or equivalent)
- University degree in a related field and/or a certificate in Human Resources (preferred)
Experience
- Minimum of two (2) years clerical experience
- Clerical experience within the education system will be considered an asset
- Exemplary oral and written communication skills
-Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
-Excellent computer skills (e.g. Microsoft Office: Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Forms, TEAMS)
- Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to tasks
- Demonstrated initiative and ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment

Experience
