NOGDAWINDAMIN Family and Community Services, a designated Indigenous Child Welfare Agency under the Child Youth and Family Services Act serving member First Nations situated between Sault Ste. Marie and Sudbury is seeking to hire a:

CONTRACT TO MARCH 31, 2025
CASUAL BABY CUDDLER
LOCATION: SERPENT RIVER/SUDBURY
Rate: $20.00/hour

Job Summary
The Nogdawindamin Family and Community Services Baby Cuddling Program is part of the Neonatal Caring Services and will address all aspects of the infant's health. The Baby Cuddler will assist with comforting and addressing the needs of the infants through interaction including hugging, holding, rocking, singing, talking (story telling), etc. The Baby Cuddler will be in direct contact with infants and their parents and/or caregivers.

Required Skills:
- Experience working with First Nation or Indigenous agencies, children, and families.
- Must be willing to undergo training offered by Nogdawindamin Neonatal Services
- Experience handling newborns and premature babies
- Understanding of issues related to premature babies
- Comfortable in a Critical Care setting
- Comfortable in observing anxious, stressed patients and families in times of crisis
- Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
Requirements:
- Respect for, sensitivity towards as well as knowledge and understanding of Anishnawbek culture, traditions and the Seven Grandfather Teachings
- Ability to understand and speak Anishnaabemowin is a definite asset
- Must provide a Criminal Records Check deemed satisfactory by the employer
- Must have a Class 'G' Ontario Driver's Licence, access to a vehicle and the ability to travel
- Must have $1M automobile insurance coverage
