Job Description:
Job Title: Human Resources Coordinator
Location: Sault Ste. Marie Main Office
Status of Employment: Full-time, Permanent
Pay Rate / Hour: $30.00-$40.00 per hour
Job Summary:
This multi-disciplinary rehabilitation company's Human Resource Coordinator is pivotal in driving the organization's success by strategically managing and developing our human capital. They oversee all aspects of human resources, from talent acquisition and employee relations to performance management and organizational development. They plan, lead, direct, develop, and coordinate the policies, activities, and ensure legal compliance and implementation of its mission and talent strategy. The HR is a dynamic individual with strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of HR best practices, and the ability to align human resources initiatives with the overall business strategy.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Human Resource Leadership:
-Lead talent acquisition efforts, including recruiting, selecting, and onboarding new Spark team members.
-Develop, communicate and administer HR policies and procedures that maintain and improve employee relations and shape organizational culture.
-Provide mentorship and professional development opportunities for all Spark Team members per collaboration and communication with department heads.
-Foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
-Drive organizational development initiatives to enhance employee engagement and retention.
-Collaborate with department heads to identify training needs and implement relevant programs.
-Assist with discipline and termination of Spark team members in accordance with company policies.
-Oversee management processes, including goal setting, evaluations, and professional development plans and carry them out in a timely manner.
-Create and oversee KPA and KPI systems.
Financial Management:
-Ensure completion of accurate and timely payroll processing.
-Find solutions to discrepancies and create processes for smooth operations.
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Collaborate with other department heads and leadership to ensure seamless interdisciplinary communication and coordination.
- Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, and maintaining personal networks.
- Work with marketing and social media team members for job postings such as Facebook pages, websites, etc.
- Complete other HR tasks assigned by other department heads.
- Lead and ensure completion of department tasks and coverage.
Health and Safety
-Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation and due diligence.
-Lead and assist the employer, JHSC, and management in developing and implementing health & safety policies and programs.
-Lead the control and administration of WSIB, safety programs and initiatives.
-Develop an effective return-to-work program for injured Team members.
Technology and Systems:
-Collaborate with other department heads and leadership to ensure seamless interdisciplinary communication and coordination.
-Ensure all Spark Team members have the technology and systems to fulfill their job requirements.
-Evaluate and implement technology solutions to enhance administrative and communication efficiency.
-Oversee the management of all IT and office systems, including communication and information systems.
Research, Analysis, Quality & Compliance:
-Develop and implement HR policies and procedures in accordance with legal and industry standards.
-Ensure compliance with labour laws and regulations, staying informed about changes and updates.
-Oversee systems, processes, space requirements, and infrastructure while looking for opportunities for improvement and revising as necessary.
-Conduct regular audits of HR processes to maintain data accuracy and integrity.
-Manage and research compensation and benefits programs, ensuring competitiveness in the market.
-Conducted research and analysis of organizational trends, including reviewing reports and metrics from the organization's human resource information system (HRIS) or talent management system.
-Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law; applies this knowledge to communicate policy, practice, and resource changes to upper management.
Organizational Accountability:
The Human Resource Coordinator reports directly to the Owner and Chief Operating Officer. They will collaborate closely with department heads and senior leadership to align HR strategies with overall organizational objectives.
Working Conditions:
-This is a full-time position based at our Sault Ste. Marie Office
-Often, sitting and repetitive tasks
-The HR may be required to work outside regular office hours and travel occasionally for business-related meetings and industry events.

Required Skills:
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
Chartered Human Resources Professional of Canada (CHRP)
Proven experience as an HR leader in a multi-disciplinary or healthcare setting.
Strong knowledge of HR laws, regulations, and best practices.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated ability to lead and develop HR teams.
Strategic thinker with the ability to align HR initiatives with business goals.
Experience in talent acquisition, employee relations, and performance management.
Proficient in HRIS and other relevant software.
