6 MONTH FULLTIME CONTRACT - EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY
Essential Driver - Family & Community Support Services
Salary: $19.00 - $22.00 (based on experience)

JOB SUMMARY
The primary purpose of this position is to provide transportation for members of Sagamok Anishnawbek to shop for essential items outside of Sagamok in Elliot Lake, Massey, Espanola or Sudbury. The days of service are Monday to Friday between the hours of 9am to 4pm. The Essential Driver will report to the Children & Youth Program Manager and will work out of the Youth Centre.

POSITION DUTIES
- Receive daily calls for bookings.
- Maintain a daily logbook of all transportation, including the date, number of trips, number of patients per trip, and passenger's name.
- Enter/input data into assigned computer.
- Limit use of the Essential Driver cell phone to communication with passengers with the Sagamok Anishnawbek Family & Community Social Services Department during trips.
- Pick-up and deliver essential items to community members as needed upon request.
- Complete all related forms as assigned.
- Conduct daily safety inspections of Essential Shopping vehicle prior to departure from the community.
- Maintain a neat and sanitary environment inside the Essential Shopping vehicle.
- Use hand sanitizer upon entry to Medical Transportation vehicles and encourage patients to do so.
- Maintain a supply of hand sanitizer and personal protective equipment in Essential Shopping vehicle.
- Wash exterior of Essential Shopping vehicle on a regular basis.
- Conduct regular maintenance of Essential Shopping vehicle (oil changes and other basic maintenance).
- Schedule and transport Essential Shopping vehicle for other maintenance and repairs as required.

Required Skills:
QUALIFICATIONS
- Must have a valid Class G driver's license.
- Must provide a positive Driver's Abstract
- Must be willing and available to work overtime as required.
- Must have the ability to read, comprehend and comply with all Sagamok Anishnawbek policies.
- Must have the basic computer skills necessary to enter Program data.
- Must have the ability to plan, organize, and manage time and workloads.
- Must have the ability to work well in a team setting.
- Must be a highly motivated self-starter.
- The ability to speak the Ojibway language, and knowledge and appreciation of Native culture and heritage are considered definite assets.
Requirements:
TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
- Must have current CPR and First Aid Certification.
- Must be mature and responsible.
- Must provide a clear CPIC (Canadian Police Information Centre) record.
- Must have a Valid Drivers Class G License and use of own vehicle.
- Must treat all passengers in a respectful and professional manner.
- Must sign & maintain confidentiality.
- Must maintain a neat and professional appearance.
- Personal suitability will be considered for this type of position.
