The Algoma District School Board (ADSB) is seeking applications for
Elliot Lake Intermediate & Secondary School (7-12)

10 Month - Full Time Contract Position

The Indigenous Graduation Coach will assist the Elliot Lake Intermediate and Secondary school community in improving graduation success for Indigenous students (First Nation, Métis, and Inuit) by providing supports and addressing systemic barriers. The Indigenous Graduation Coach will assist with implementing programs, services and other supports to meet the unique needs of Indigenous students and their families, focusing on academic, social, emotional and cultural needs. The Indigenous Graduation Coach will collaborate with school staff, parents, Indigenous community partners and outside agencies to build networks and supports to foster success for students during and outside of the school day.

Required Skills:
-A degree or diploma in Social Sciences, Indigenous Studies/Services, First Nations Family Support/Community Worker, or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, working with and supporting youth.
-Familiarity with local First Nations, Inuit and Métis Cultures and experience working with Indigenous students, their families and communities within our region is required.
-Possess strong organizational and communication skills, proficient computer skills, willingness to be flexible and able to work cooperatively with others.
-A valid driver's license and the willingness and ability to travel for school board related business is required.
Requirements:
Successful applicants will be required to provide a Criminal Background Check.
