The Opportunity: Part-time professor to teach welding courses in our apprenticeship and post-secondary programs in the fall and winter semesters. Must be available to teach during weekdays or evenings Monday to Friday.

This is a part-time teaching contract. Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Required Skills:
What you need to be successful:

5 years' work experience in welding processes such as Shielded Metal Arc, Gas Metal Arc, Flux Core/Metal Core Arc Welding
competent with Oxyacetylene, Cutting, Fusion Welding and Brazing
CWB or TSSA certification or Certificate of Qualification in the Welding Trade and/or Metal Fabrication Trade
experience in the safe operation of fabrication equipment such as Hydraulic Shear, Ironworker, Chop Saw and Break Press, CNC Plasma, Plate Rolls, and CNC Press Break
good computer skills including MS Office and email
experience mentoring or teaching apprentices on-the-job
formal teaching experience an asset
good written, oral communication and presentation skills
strong interpersonal skills to work effectively within a collaborative team environment
must possess ability to, and genuine interest in, meeting the educational needs of students, and sensitivity to, and understanding of, the diverse academic, socioeconomic, and cultural/ethnic backgrounds of the students.
