Job Description:
- Scope of work includes Part 9 and all applicable sections of the OBC with a focus as a generalist, plumbing or mechanical specialist.
- Eligibility for and willingness to obtain and maintain certification with the Ontario Building Officials Association (OBOA) as a Building Code Qualified (BCQ).
- Drafting site and building drawings - Line drawings.
- Identifying and recording all interior assets of residential buildings.
- Locating and identifying utilities and services on individual sites.
- Attend First Nation communities and perform Inspections/Conditional Assessments for compliance with the O.B.C., CSA, and FN regulations.
- Preparing and maintaining accurate files and records of inspections.
- Access technical resources to provide information for buildings to comply with requirements for O.B.C. and other regulation requirements.
- Work independently and maintain the schedule provided for inspections in all First Nation communities and document the inspections.
- Perform inspections including note taking, picture taking, and recording of interior assets.

Required Skills:
The Housing Asset Management Technician will possess:

- Diploma in Architectural, Architectural/Engineering Technology, or Construction Technology or related discipline; and/or
- MMAH Qualification/Building Code Identification Number (BCIN) - Any of the following courses is an asset - Legal, The House, Plumbing the House, and HVAC the House; and/or
- 5+ years of Construction experience in Housing Construction as a Lead Foreman or Supervisory role; and/or
- 10+ years of Construction experience
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
- Computer skills, Microsoft 360 - word, excel PowerPoint, Internet, email etc.
- Must have knowledge or working skills in AutoCAD or similar drafting suites.
- Strong Building Code knowledge and experience to deal with highly complex life and fire safety matters.
- Valid Class \"G\" driver's license and clear driver's abstract.
- Ability to provide a current Criminal Reference Check that is satisfactory to NSTC upon hire
