Job Description:
We are currently looking for a Summer Camp Lifeguard to join our team of committed professionals.
This is a full-time summer contract position within the Sault Ste. Marie YMCA. Positions are available at two sites - our Sault College Waterfront and Camp St. Kateri. Please indicate which site, you are applying for and list any relevant experience.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for the safety and well-being of everyone at our waterfront sites* (Sault College Waterfront and/or St. Kateri)
- Enforcing all Ontario pool/waterfront regulations and water safety rules and admission standards
- Plan and deliver daily programs: group games, crafts, swimming, outside time, etc.
- Supervise, engage and participate with the program participants in group activities
- Communicate with all staff, Site Leads and Supervisor/Managers
- Ensure safety of all participants, property, staff and volunteers by established practices and procedures
- Maintain the inventory of required supplies and request more when needed
- Welcome all children to programs
- Represent the YMCA in a professional manner at all times

Job Types: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Schedule: Day shift - 8:30-4:30 or 9-5 Monday to Friday
Work Location: McNabb site and Sault College Waterfront site
Expected training start date: 2024-06-19
Contract start date: 2024-07-02

- must be 15-30yrs of age

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
- Lifeguards must possess National Lifeguard Certification
- High Five Sport or Principles of Healthy Child Development an asset not a requirement
- Current Certification in Standard First Aid & CPR Level C
- Current Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Check
- Experience working with children and youth in a recreational setting
- Education in Child and Youth Work / Education / Psychology / Disability Support Work / Social Work / Kinesiology / Recreation an asset
- must be a Canadian citizen, Canadian permanent resident or refugee
- must be 15-30yrs of age
