Family Support Services · Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario (Hybrid)
We are looking for a Social Worker - BSW for a full-time 1-year contract position. We are seeking an innovative, and highly motivated professional to provide case management support to clients and their families including responding to inquiries, advocating on behalf of clients and their families, and linking clients/families to internal and external services. This position will work Monday thru Friday, 37.5 hours a week. This position works in a hybrid working model (a mix of home and in-office workdays) and will be based out of our Queen Street office in Sault Ste. Marie (travel may be required).

Required Skills:
What we need from you:
Bachelor degree in Social Work from an accredited university program
Membership with the Ontario College of Registered Social Workers and Social Service Workers
Experience in pediatric rehabilitation is an asset
Ability to plan, deliver and evaluate services using evidence-based research
Familiarity with case management/coordination including assessment, effective interactions with collaterals, intervention as needed, advocacy, funding assistance and education/resource sharing.
Strong communication skills including verbal, written, presentation and listening skills
Demonstrated experience working family centred-approach, ensuring clients and families have a voice and are engaged as true partners in care;
Sensitive to linguistic, cultural, social, economic, individual and positional differences among staff, providers and children/families served.
Ability to communicate in both official languages is an asset
Satisfactory criminal background check and vulnerable sector screen (CPIC)
Proof of full COVID-19 vaccination is required
Access to a reliable vehicle as travel throughout the district to other Centre sites may be necessary.
