The Kensington Conservancy is a local land trust that protects over 1,200 acres of ecologically sensitive land in the St. Joseph Channel area. We are looking to hire up to two seasonal employees to conduct property monitoring, ecological surveys, trail maintenance, community outreach, and other associated tasks.

Location: Desbarats, Ontario Anticipated Start Date: June 2025 Contract Length: 8 weeks Positions Available: 2Compensation: $18.20/hour (35 hours/week) If you thrive in a friendly, versatile atmosphere, where you are a valued member of a great team working to protect the environment, we welcome you to apply. Duties and Responsibilities:
- monitor nature preserves for disturbances and general ecological health
- collect data on the presence of flora and fauna species on nature preserves
- assist with monitoring programs relating to wildlife and water quality
- conduct basic trail maintenance and upkeep of property
- assist with public education, youth programs, community outreach events and activities

Qualifications and Skills Required
- completed, or currently completing, a diploma or degree in a field related to natural resources
- identification of local flora and fauna species, including invasive species
- knowledge of local ecosystems and how they function
- experience working outdoors in all weather conditions
- exceptional outdoor navigation skills
- the ability to work both independently and as a team
- valid drivers license
- valid pleasure craft operators card

Candidate Eligibility
- must be a youth between the ages of 15 and 30 and a permanent resident of Canada
- available for some evening and weekend work
- must complete a vulnerable sector check
