**On-Call**
Position: Special Education Driver
Starting Range: $20.31 - $22.39 (Pending Education & Experience)
Location: Education Centre
Report to: Education Manager

POSITION SUMMARY
The Special Education TransportationDriver will be responsible for our students with exceptional needs to various schools throughout the city of Sault Ste. Marie on a daily basis. Two runs minimally will be required per driver per day. The first run will be to transport our students to their respective schools and then to transport them home again.

DUTIES
- Transporting students to and from designated schools on a daily basis.
- Transporting supplies and/or equipment to various locations under the direction of the Education Support Services Coordinator/Manager
- Maintaining Log Book of all transportation provided (destination, mileage, gas consumption, circle checks, etc.) and all deliveries and supplies
- Maintaining the Transportation Van is in good working conditions at all times
- Comply with the Dealership dates for scheduled oil changes, tune-ups, etc.
- Communicating matters pertaining to student that are relevant to the parents
- Communicating in a professional manner
- Perform other related duties as may be required and assigned

QUALIFICATIONS
- Must have a valid Class G License.
- Must be willing to obtain Class F License.
- Must have a clear driver's abstract obtained in the last month from theMinistry of Transportation.
- Demonstrated sensitivity to children with exceptional needs and knowledge of First Nation cultural values and traditions.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as a member of a team.
- Excellent organizational skills, time management skills, interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Must undergo a criminal record vulnerable sector check prior to employment (At Applicant Expense)
