Child Care Cook
NATURE AND SCOPE: This position is responsible for providing well-balanced snacks and lunch to children in accordance with YMCA policies/procedures, The Child Care and Early Years Act and other regulatory agencies.
PAY RATE / HOUR: 17.20
LOCATION: Sault Ste. Marie
POSITION: Permanent Part-time
START DATE: As soon as Possible
CORE RESPONSIBILITES:
- Assist in the development of menu plans
- Responsible for the timely preparation of food
- Ordering and Purchasing items for menu plans within the established financial parameters
- Maintaining the kitchen in a sanitary condition
- Ability to work with minimal supervision

Required Skills:
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
Education and Training
- Safe Food Handler Certificate
- Post-secondary education in Culinary or related field
- Current First Aid/CPR Certification
- Current Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector
- Valid Driver's License and access to a vehicle is an asset
Experience
- One year experience in a Restaurant or related Food Preparation setting
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
Other Skills
- Good organizational skills
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
