TEMPORARY THREE (3) MONTH CONTRACT - Possibility of extension
Assistant to the Unit Manager/Finance Clerk Mamaweswen, The North Shore Tribal Council invites applications for the position of Assistant to the Unit Manager/Finance Clerk.
This position will be required to work out of the North Shore Tribal Council Branch Office, located in Blind River, ON.

Purpose: The Assistant to the Unit Manager/Finance Clerk will provide administrative and financial support to the ISETP Program and Naadmaadwiiuk Sub Agreement.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:-Provide administrative support to the ISETP/Naadmaadwiiuk Unit Manager.-Edit, proofread and finalize correspondence, reports, statements, invoices, forms, presentations and other documents,-Maintain and prepare reports from manual or electronic files, inventories, mailing lists and databases.-Sort, process and verify applications, receipts, expenditures, forms and other documents.-Assist in the co-ordination of administrative procedures such as budgets submissions, contracts administration, quarterly and other reports and work schedules.-Assist in the coordination of special events organized by ISETP.-Utilize internal Data Management System.-Provide guidance, compose letters of agreement, calculate and process quarterly payment for the First Nation Inuit Child Care Initiatives.-Examine accuracy of First Nation applications and draft Funding Request with cost breakdown for recommendations to First Nations of Mississauga and Serpent River.-Complete financial tasks within the department as outlined in the position job description.-Implement existing efficient working processes and coordinate, assign and review the work of Employment Development Officer to ensure completeness of contract files.

Required Skills:
-A college diploma or related courses in accounting/bookkeeping or a minimum of two (2) years related experience in Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable or Finance. 2+ years' experience in an office setting.
-Excellent oral and written communication skills.
-Analytical and problem-solving skills
