Personal Support Worker (PSW) OR 2nd Year Nursing Student

Duties and Responsibilities
Personal Support Workers will be placed in a Long-Term Care Home, hospital, or in the community. The specific responsibilities and duties vary slightly between locations, as well as from shift to shift. These expectations will be communicated during the site-specific orientation. Duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
- Provide one-on-one care to residents and/or clients, ensuring the fulfillment of goals outlined in their care plans.
- Assist with activities of daily living such as; feeding, lifts & transfers, bathing, skin care, oral hygiene, toileting, meal preparation, light housekeeping, etc.
- Continuously monitor residents and/or clients and their environment.
- Document and report any behavioral, physical, or cognitive changes observed.
- Ensure the health, safety, welfare, and independence of residents and/or clients.
- Adhere to the Occupational Health and Safety regulations set by the province, as well as the policies and procedures of Superior Staff it and any partnered homes.
**ALL NECESSARY PPE WILL BE PROVIDED ON SITE**
Salary: $23.00/hr

- Casual, temp part-time, temp full-time opportunities
- Day, evening, night shifts
- Holidays
- Weekends

- Hardworking, compassionate, positive, solution-oriented, and professional.
- Excellent attendance and punctuality.
- Ability to adapt to change and remain flexible.
- Strong organizational skills while being able to maintain high standards under pressure.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
- Ability to work well independently and in a team environment.
- Proficient in technology and have experience managing electronic health records.
- Excellent listening and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to comply with standard policies and procedures to ensure a safe work environment.
Qualifications
- Completion of a recognized PSW program or completion of your first year in a recognized Practical Nursing or BScN program (required).
- OPSWA membership for internationally educated nurses or physicians (required).
- Minimum 1 year experience (required).
- LTC experience is considered an asset.
- Satisfactory Criminal Record Check including the Vulnerable Sector Search.
- Proof of full COVID-19 vaccination (preferred).
- Must have access to own transportation.
- A valid driver's license, access to own vehicle and possessing own car insurance are considered an asset.
- OPSWA membership is considered an asset.
