Position: Special Events Coordinator
Reports to: Fundraising Manager
Job Type: 6 month Contract with potential to lead to full time

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Special Events Coordinator will play a crucial role in driving our fundraising and marketing efforts by leading and executing a variety of events that support the organization's mission. This position is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing our signature events, including our annual golf tournament, which raises over $70,000, and other key initiatives such as Backpacks for Success and Tampon Tuesday. In addition to managing these events, the Special Events Coordinator will be tasked with developing and launching new fundraising events that align with our goals and increase our brand visibility in the community.
The ideal candidate is a creative, highly organized individual with strong project management skills and a passion for making a difference. They should have a proven track record in event planning and execution, along with the ability to build and maintain relationships with sponsors, volunteers, and community partners. This role requires someone who can think strategically, work collaboratively, and handle multiple projects simultaneously.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Event Planning & Execution:
Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of all current events, including the annual golf tournament, Backpacks for Success, and Tampon Tuesday.
Develop detailed event plans, timelines, and budgets to ensure successful event outcomes.
Collaborate with external partners to secure venues, vendors, and sponsorships.
Oversee event logistics, including registration, volunteer coordination, and day-of-event management.

Fundraising & Sponsorship:
Identify and pursue new fundraising opportunities through events that align with the organization's mission.
Build and maintain relationships with sponsors, donors, and community partners to secure financial and in-kind support for events.
Develop and implement strategies to maximize revenue generation for each event.

Marketing & Promotion:
Create promotional materials, social media campaigns, and other marketing efforts to raise awareness and drive participation in events.
Develop and implement strategies to increase the visibility of the organization and its events in the community.
Ensure consistent branding and messaging across all event-related communications.

Innovation & Development:
Develop and launch new events that generate revenue and enhance the organization's presence in the community.
Conduct post-event evaluations to measure success, gather feedback, and identify areas for improvement.

Required Skills:
Passion for nonprofit work and community service
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Familiarity with social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram)
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Experience in fundraising and/or marketing preferred
