Job Description:
The Corporation of the Town of Blind River Requires a Heavy Equipment Mechanic.

Blind River is seeking an energetic, and highly motivated individual to join our team. The Town is accepting applications for the position of Mechanic, responsible for:
a) Service and repair of all mobile units and stationary equipment, e.g., pumps, lawnmowers, sidewalk machines etc. utilized by the Town following maintenance scheduling and repair procedures as supplied by the manufacturer.
b) Repair all minor and major breakdown/damage resulting from operations.
c) Maintain a clean and safe work environment including work areas, garage floor, store area and equipment.
d) Maintain records of repairs including work orders, parts utilized, parts purchased, repair time, etc.
e) Operate and test equipment following repairs/maintenance.
f) Maintain and order stock, when required as well as maintain a parts and stock inventory control list.
g) Participate in fleet management activities as required

Reporting directly to the Public Works Foreperson and Director of Public Services, and working with a team of excellent municipal staff, the successful applicant will be responsible for maintenance and repair of Town of Blind River equipment and its fleet of vehicles.

Compensation: $31.81/hr., 40 hours per week. In addition, the Town of Blind River offers an employee benefits program and OMERS retirement plan

Required Skills:
The ideal candidate should possess:
1. An Ontario Class \"A\" Mechanics license (310S-Automotive and 310T-Truck and Coach) with diesel endorsement;
2. A heavy duty mechanic's license;
3. A valid Class \"DZ\" Driver's License;
4. Three to five years of experience working on varied equipment i.e., front-end loader, back-hoe, excavator, Commercial Vehicle Registered (CVOR) and passenger vehicle
