We are seeking an NP, or RN with Occupational Health experience to be site lead nurse and aid with our Physician in running a health clinic in Sault Ste. Marie for a specific location (site), assisting in various activities, assessments, tests, and other required areas.
Benefits: After 3 months of employment benefits are provided through Canada Life
Wage: Range is $30.00 to $50.00 based on experience and education
Hours: Mon-Fri 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. - on-call rotation. Min 37.5 hours per week.
Vacation: 2 weeks starting per year.
Parking: On-site.
Responsibilities:
- 24/7 On-Call for response via phone/Virtual assessment or in person if required (shared with other staff)
- Consultation for staff on-site regarding medical assessment, triage, and directing to other professional local services as required.
- Set up telehealth and consult with a physician for triage and follow-up assessments.
- Evaluate specific (flagged) Audiometry, Spirometry, X-ray, and bloodwork testing results for follow-up or direct to family physician.
- Conduct on-site annual medical testing and pre-employment medical testing, including follow-up and documentation control, tracking, updating, and monitoring.
- Assessment of employees due to injury or incident.
- Tracking/record keeping of individual medication, health assessments, and Complete documents/logs related to communication between client and contractor and retain for audit purposes or request from the client.
- Conduct annual medical testing on-site using Client equipment (or rented equipment) for medical/spirometry/audiometry and other annual medical testing.
- Assist with coordination of medical testing for annuals and other duties assigned to nursing on-site.
- Assist in the return-to-work coordination and documentation control, including case management recovery of injured and ill workers. Coordinating treatment planning and returning to work. Working with Human Resources on monitoring with WSIB.
- Assist in determining coverages (if applicable) for treatment/return to work through OHIP, Benefits, or alternate support.
- Complete WSIB and other documentation forms as required.
- Ensure additional medical attention is received if required and follow up on test results and professional review.
- Act as a team member to promote health & safety and policies/procedures.
- Administer Health workplace protocols within legal regulations.
- Educate workers on the hazards of physical demands of work.
- Assist in the management of the fit-for-duty program.
- Drug & Alcohol testing & process on site for post-incident/accident & reasonable cause.
- Participate in JHSC meetings as required.
- Assist in developing SOPs for H&S
- Assist in coordinating and completing vaccine clinics and other health initiatives on site.
- Making sure individuals get their results and informing them of the next steps/follow-ups
- Collaborating with Physicians, NorthStream staff, and Tenaris HSE team as required.
- Accurately collect and record information from patients as required
- Creating a calm and positive experience for the team, client, and patients
- General office, cleaning, and administrative duties
- Adhere to all policies, procedures, directives, regulations, confidentiality, human rights, and other governing systems, standards, and regulations.

Required Skills:
- Registered Practical Nurse Diploma/Register Nurse Diploma/Nurse Practitioner/Occupational Health Nurse
- Currently registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Current BLS/CPR Certificate
- Demonstrated clinical competence with general medicine nursing skills
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within an interprofessional team, as well as independently
- Excellent physical assessment skills, critical thinking skills and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Experience working with diverse population groups
- Ability to work with Microsoft Office 365 programs
- Demonstrated understanding and commitment to patient care
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
- Demonstrated ability to engage and educate patients and families
- Demonstrated record of good performance and acceptable attendance will be considered as part of the selection criteria
- Professional behaviour and communication that meets the standards of the professional regulatory college or association, as applicable, and the standards of Women's College Hospital
