Job Description:
Our company is a dynamic and growing Indigenous owned business corporation with a robust portfolio of diverse commercial interests. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join our executive team and play a pivotal role in shaping the financial
strategy and success of our organization.

Job Type: Full-time Contract position
Salary: $110,000.00-$150,000.00 per year

Schedule:
- Monday to Friday
Work Location: Sault Ste Marie Ontario
Expected start date: 2024

Responsibilities:
1. Financial Leadership:
- Provide strategic financial leadership, breadth, and accountability across asset classes.
- Develop and implement financial plans, budgets, and forecasts to support business objectives.
- Monitor and analyze financial performance, identifying areas for improvement and growth.
- Co-develop and implement sound investment strategies
- Provide insights and recommendations based on financial analysis.
- Oversees and directs treasury, budgeting, audit, tax, accounting, purchasing, real estate, long-range forecasting, and insurance activities for the organization.
- Directs the book keeper in providing and directing procedures and computer application systems necessary to maintain proper records and to afford adequate accounting.
- Analyzes, consolidates and directs all cost accounting procedures together with other statistical and routine reports.

2. Joint Venture/Subsidiary Companies:
- Manage accounting processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Oversee financial reporting and analysis.
- Establish and/or provide financial oversight of shareholder/joint venture/service agreement implementation and compliance.
- Work with our external consultants/partner companies to prepare and present comprehensive financial reports for executive leadership and stakeholders.
- Evaluates and recommends business partnering opportunities.

3. Risk Management:
- Identify and mitigate financial risks associated with investments, acquisitions, partnerships and asset management.
- Implement and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard financial assets.

4. Financial Reporting:
- Appraises the organization's financial position and issues periodic reports on the organization's financial stability, liquidity, and growth.
- Directs the treasurer in activities such as custodian of funds, securities, and assets of the organization.
- Coordinates tax reporting programs and investor relations activities.
- Oversees and directs the preparation and issuance of the corporation's annual report.
- Directs and analyzes studies of general economic, business, and financial conditions and their impact on the organization's policies and operations.
- Analyzes operational issues impacting functional groups and the whole institution and determines their financial impact.

Required Skills:
Qualifications:
- CMA,CPA or similar degree in Accounting. CPA preferred.
- Proven experience in the financial and asset management sector.
- Thorough understanding of tax policies and compliance within the Indigenous sector.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
