Public Area Maintenance
- Cuts and trims grass.
- Picks up litter and garbage.
- Cleans catch basins and manholes.
- Paints a variety of surfaces.

Roads Maintenance
- Repairs and replaces road signage and other traffic control devices.
- Sets up construction work zones for traffic control and controls traffic.
- Assists with repair and maintenance of roads and ditches.

Customer Service
- Responds to public enquiries, giving out information and referring members of the public to the municipal office.

Other
- Performs other tasks as assigned by management.
- Complies with Corporation policies and procedures.

Responsibilities:

- Accepts direction from CAO/Public Works Superintendent.
- Works according to Municipal/Public Works Standards set by Council policy, Ministry of Transportation and administrative practices.
- Undertakes various tasks according to plans, priorities and experience.

Demonstrated ability to exercise good judgement, initiative, good physical condition and ability to communicate with others.

Working Conditions:

High exposure to physical hazards, extreme weather conditions.
Exposed to unpredictable traffic, verbal abuse from the public.
Shifting priorities and schedules to respond to emergencies.
Usual work hours with a minimum of 35 hours a week.


Impact of Error:

Operational errors could result in costly delays due to equipment breakdown. Project delays could create safety and convenience risks including injury, liability and unfavourable public relations.
