Job Description:
THRIVE Child Development Centre through the Canada Summer Jobs (CSJ) initiative has employment opportunities for students for a People & Culture Assistant (aka Human Resources).

Responsibilities:
- Assist in compiling, maintaining and processing information related to staffing, recruitment, training, and performance evaluations.
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date, and complete employee records and ensure confidentiality with all client and departmental files.
- Work in partnership with Joint Health & Safety Committee, management and employees groups by communicating and monitoring adherence to health and safety policies, procedures and all applicable legislation
- Support in update Staff and Health & Safety information board
- Support in developing a safe, inclusive, and fun community for all
- Support project planning and implementation of various health and safety programs as well as support process improvement initiatives.
- Support with creation of job descriptions, job postings, and resume screening
- Participate in professional development activities to improve knowledge and skills.

Period of Employment: 12 weeks starting June 3, 2024 (Full time days, Monday to Friday)
Hours of Work: 37.5 hours per week
Wages: $18.00

Qualifications:

- Preferred - Post secondary school diploma or degree in Human Resources
- Only those 18-30 years old are eligible (funding criteria as per CSJ)
- Be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial/territorial legislation and regulations
- Satisfactory criminal background check
- Proof of full COVID-19 vaccination is a job requirement
