Job Description:
The North Shore Health Network provides rural healthcare for communities along the north shore of Lake Huron - including services in Blind River, Thessalon and Richards Landing. The North Shore Health Network sites have been serving their communities faithfully for many years providing emergency, acute, complex continuing care, long term care and community support services.
The Role:
The Health Information Services Assistant (HISA) will transcribe/edit all dictated reports in accordance with North Shore Health Network policies and procedures and distribute copies of transcribed reports accordingly. In addition, the HISA will assist the department with scanning, quantitative and qualitative analysis, chart control, release of information, filing, maintaining overflow charts and expired charts, reception duties for the department as well as maintaining the Meditech modules related to Health Information Services.

Required Skills:
Qualifications:
- Certificate from a Medical Terminology Course
- Proficiency in customer service, interpersonal and telephone skills
- Proficient in Windows-based applications environment
- Previous experience in medical transcription or a Health Information Services Department
- Clear Criminal Reference Check
