NOGDAWINDAMIN Family and Community Services, a designated Indigenous Child Welfare Agency under the Child Youth and Family Services Act serving member First Nations situated between Sault Ste. Marie and Sudbury is seeking to hire a FULL-TIME CONTRACT TO MARCH 29, 2024
CHILD WELFARE MENTOR - SUPERVISOR
LOCATION: SAULT STE. MARIE
Salary Range: $73,844.00 to $90,706.00

The Child Welfare Mentor - Supervisor will provide guidance, coaching and mentoring to Team Supervisors and front-line Child Welfare Workers. The Child Welfare Mentor - Supervisor will provide new or experienced staff with the opportunity to learn and improve on the foundations of best practice in Indigenous child welfare, while ensuring their efforts adhere to the Agency's strategic planning, policies and procedures as well as the legal framework of the Child and Youth Family Services Act and First Nation standards of practice.

Required Skills:
- Bachelor of Social Work degree is required
- Community College Diploma in Social Services or Native Child Welfare Worker diploma may be considered
- Minimum 5 years' prior Child Welfare experience and experience in group facilitation and adult learning principles
- Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
Requirements:
- Respect for, sensitivity towards as well as knowledge and understanding of Anishnawbek culture, traditions and the Seven Grandfather Teachings
- Ability to understand and speak Anishnaabemowin is a definite asset
- Must provide a Criminal Records Check deemed satisfactory by the employer
- Must have a Class 'G' Ontario Driver's Licence, access to a vehicle and the ability to travel
- Must have $1M automobile insurance coverage
