 Overview

Better jobs Ontario may provide you with support in the following areas: 

  • skills training for in-demand jobs
  • financial support (tuition, books, living allowance)
  • transportation
 Eligible Training

Better Jobs Ontario aims to help you rejoin the workforce quickly; therefore, the training period (time between the start and end date, including breaks/vacation and placement) cannot exceed 52 weeks.

 Participant Eligibility

To be eligible, individuals must:

  • have been laid-off and be unemployed, OR
  • be from a low-income household and experiencing challenges attaching to the labour market.

In addition to the above criteria, individuals must:

  • be a resident of Ontario; and
  • be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident or meet the 900-series Social Insurance Number (SIN) policy
  • demonstrate occupational demand for the skills training request with evidence of good employment prospects locally or within Ontario - with the exception of Feepayers who are exempt from this requirement.
