Job Description:
The North Shore Health Network provides rural healthcare for communities along the north shore of Lake Huron - including services in Blind River, Thessalon and Richards Landing. The North Shore Health Network sites have been serving their communities faithfully for many years providing emergency, acute, complex continuing care, long term care and community support services.
The Role:
- Receive patients in the outpatient Lab
- Enter orders from the requisition into Meditech
- Answer phones, respond to voicemail and return calls from the booking line
- Communicate with the Providers regarding incomplete or expired requisitions
- Monitor online bookings and outcomes in Care Dove
- Coordinate appointments between Laboratory and Medical Imaging for better patient centred care
- Transcribe the results from Public Health and Life Labs into LIS
- Assist with Phlebotomy as required
- Organize and maintain outpatient requisitions in manual filing system
- Maintain inventory in the outpatient lab area
- Create Way Bills for specimen send outs (Purolator, Ontario Northland)
- Invoice patients for non-OHIP covered testing
- Other duties/projects as assigned

- Competent with Care Dove online scheduling in order to implement new booking system
- Competent in Meditech Community Wide Scheduler
- Medical Terminology
