About Us:
The North Shore Health Network provides rural healthcare for communities along the north shore of Lake Huron - including services in Blind River, Thessalon and Richards Landing. The North Shore Health Network sites have been serving their communities faithfully for many years providing emergency, acute, complex continuing care, long-term care and community support services.

The Role:
The physiotherapist is responsible for providing services to clients using recognized physiotherapy techniques, and to optimize their independence in activities of daily living. The physiotherapist will utilize a client-centered approach to the services, which includes involving the family, caregiver, and/or POA as appropriate. The physiotherapist will also be an integral member of the Geriatric Rehabilitation Team.

Responsibilities:
- Completes a detailed physiotherapy assessment, designs an appropriate treatment plan for each client, evaluates its effectiveness, and modifies it accordingly.
- Ensures a continuum of care is maintained for the duration of the client's treatment.
- Completes all necessary documentation, statistics, and reports.
- Supervises the Physiotherapy Assistant(s) or Aide(s) and delegates where appropriate.
- Is involved in education for new and ongoing staff members.
- Promotes good communication and public relations within the NSHN and the community.
- Ensures the appropriate maintenance and operation of the Rehabilitation Department.
- Cognizant and compliant with NSHN's policies and procedures, including those of the Rehabilitation Department.
- Maintains own continuing education to enhance professional knowledge and growth.
- Participates in administrative activities that ensure safe, ethical and high-quality physiotherapy services.
- Takes part in the Department's Quality Improvement initiatives.
- Other duties as assigned

Required Skills:
- Bachelor of Science or Master's Degree in Physiotherapy
- Registered physiotherapist in good standing with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario
- Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing
- Ability to exercise independent judgment and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated leadership and teaching skills
- Ability to work independently and as a member of the interdisciplinary team in care planning
- Excellent organizational and prioritization skills
- Demonstrated knowledge of current physiotherapy best practices
- Ability to operate and maintain related equipment
- Proficient in Microsoft environment (Word, Excel, and Power Point)
- Able to carry out the physical demands of the position in a safe manner
- Clear criminal record
- Bilingual - English & French considered a strong asset
Requirements:
PREFERRED:
- Minimum of two years' experience as a physiotherapist in a healthcare setting
- Minimum of Level 2 Manual Therapy training
- Knowledge of current best practices around Senior Friendly Care and ALC Avoidance considered a strong asset
