Job Description:
Responsible for assisting the plumber at homes and residences. Helps install, repair, and maintain pipes used for water distribution and wastewater disposal.
Primary Responsibilities
- Assist in installing and maintaining plumbing systems.
- Cut openings in structures in preparation for pipes.
- Install supports and hangers for pipes, fixtures, and equipment.
- Assemble and install valves and fittings.
- Install other plumbing equipment, such as sinks, tubs, toilets, water heaters, and appliances.
- Measure, cut, thread, and bend pipe to the required angle
- Perform scheduled maintenance.
- Clean up worksites from hazardous or obsolete material
- Handle and transport materials (e.g. cement) and equipment (e.g. drills and grinders)
- Use power tools and machinery when needed
- Follow instructions from supervisors to perform manual labour tasks (e.g. digging, stacking up goods)
- Help with setting up and transferring temporary structures (e.g. scaffolding)

Required Skills:
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the job (standing for long periods of time, lifting heavy loads of up to 40 pounds, etc.)
- Good hand-eye coordination
- Familiarity with power tools and machinery is a plus
