Job Description:
The Town of Thessalon is seeking applications for summer employment opportunities involving duties related to the Thessalon Marina, Lakeside Park, Public Works, Horticultural, Recreation, as well as general municipal work. Please note: students will be assigned accordingly to one of the following departments throughout the 2023 season:
Lakeside Park:
- assist park staff and other staff with grass cutting, clearing brush, and collection of garbage
- provide direction and assistance to campers to locate and set up campsites
- collect camping fees and issue receipts
Marina:
- assist with the docking of boats
- collect docking fees and issue receipts
- provide general maintenance of buildings and grounds
- pump gas and provide pump-out services as required by boaters
Town/Public Works:
- assist with the care and maintenance of the Town including grass cutting, street sweeping, and horticultural matters
- assist with work on other municipal projects
Recreation Coordinator:
- deliver a Swim Program
- help organize the Soccer and Community Day events
- water planters around the community
Successful students may be requested to complete other duties as assigned by their supervisor.
The anticipated start date for up to 2 positions will be the middle of May, with all other positions to start July 3, 2023.

Required Skills:
The successful applicants must be between 15 and 30 years of age, must be full-time students for the 2022-2023 academic year and be enrolled as full-time students for the 2023-2024 academic year.
