Sault College Employment Services has partnered with the Indigenous Friendship Centre to host a celebration of local Indigenous artists, community supports, and hiring employers.

The two-day event begins on Aug. 22nd at the Queenscentre on Queen Street East in the atrium and at Sault College Employment Solutions on the second floor.

The opening day of the event will feature community agencies and education programs.

It will begin with opening ceremonies and a land acknowledgement at 10 a.m. Presentations on the Urban Homeward Bound program, which will be delivered by the Indigenous Friendship Centre at 11 a.m. and noon

Day two of the event (Aug. 23), which also begins at 10 a.m., will be headlined by employers and local artists. Anyone interested in pursuing employment will be able to speak with representatives on their hiring processes, skills requirements, and employment opportunities.

“Through the Indigenous Employment and Agency Showcase, we have a unique opportunity to unite job seekers, employers, and local artists in a celebration of culture, community, and career development.
