Duties:
- Assist Program Director in implementing Individualized Education Plans
- Collect/track data under the direction of the Program Director
- Works in compliance with all Policies and Procedures of Breaking Away
- Acts in a professional manner at all times as an advocate of Breaking Away
- Assist the Program Director in facilitating the coordination of the daily program activities
- Assist/encourage individuals involved with Breaking Away to participate to the best of their ability - Using Least to Most prompting techniques
- Assist students with meal preparation (table setting, cleaning/cutting fruits and vegetables, baking etc.) and clean up (wiping tables, rinsing dishes, putting away all cooking supplies)
- Assist students with grocery shopping
- Assist with each student with their individualized learning (money management, social and communicative skills, personal hygiene)
- Encourage students to make healthy choices regarding food and physical fitness (swimming, aquacise, basketball, yoga and gym exercises)
- Record information - behaviour forms, WSIB, incident reports, etc. (If directly involved)
- Attend meetings/training related to work as required/requested

Compétences requises:
- Degree in Social Sciences (Psychology, Sociology, Social Work, etc.) or Diploma in the Social Services field (Personal Support Worker, Developmental Service Worker, Social Service Worker, etc.)
- Experience working with children/adults with Developmental Disabilities (Minimum 2 years)
- Knowledge of various Developmental Disabilities (Intellectual Disabilities, Down Syndrome, PDD, FASD) and any associated issues including mental health issues and psychiatric illnesses
- Experience/knowledge of Applied Behaviour Analysis (Minimum 1 year)
- Knowledge of various learning styles and theory
- Excellent organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and part of a team
- Flexible, creative, able to adapt to an always changing environment
- Good interpersonal skills
- Experience/knowledge of PECS and other communication tools
- Valid First Aid Certificate
- Valid Class G License and use of vehicle on daily basis
